The film takes off at a very good level and the entire first half goes breezily with comedy and entertainment. However, things go completely down during the second half and with each passing scene, audience’s patience is tested. The storyline is quite routine and one has seen the routine twists before. On the bright side, the technical aspects are good. Cinematography was top notch. Background score was good, two songs were melodious, dialogues were well written, screenplay was okay.

The film falls into its own trap, thanks to limitations in the story itself. The dialogues in few emotional scenes remind of TV serials. However Siddharth eases into the role of a village guy, quite unlike his old lover boy movies! He even managed the East Godavari accent well to an extent, but his expressions, his mischievous smiles are amazing. Siddharth’s fans will love this film and few might go to ogle at Pranitha. Family audiences, especially women, might like this second half.

Baava falls within the usual pattern: boy sees girl, falls for girl and then the problems start which have roots in the past. The twists are pretty predictable so there's no element of suspense. All in all, Baava is rather pedestrian fare. It's quite disappointing to see performances by the artistes go waste in a script like this.

Siddharth’s performance is impressive in the film. The character with village backdrop suited him very well. His combination scenes with Rajendra Prasad are worth watching. Pranitha has done her best to give a decent performance. She looked good at parts. When a director wanted to make a film, he should keep a point in mind. He must have complete grip on the subject and script. Bad Luck, Siddhartha kept high hopes on the film and all his hopes and dreams have been shattered.
