‘Gayam 2’ is no ‘Gayam’, where one scene after another keeps getting better and better. But it is a worthy sequel. Yes it has problems, but most are forgivable because of the content the film deals with. Go watch it for the way it brings some modern cinematic language to Telugu.

Gaayam 2 takes the story forward (from Original Gaayam) but it is still mired in the don-politician nexus and surrounding issues. An attempt is made to give it a family film flavor in the first half though it moves to be a 'don' film in the second. All in all, watch Gaayam 2 for the performances even though the original may have been shades better.

The director and producer should be complimented for portraying the present political situation on the screen perfectly and the audiences would definitely equate Kota’s character with KCR in several scenes. Though the action scenes in the film are okay, it is just not known what the director exactly wanted to tell the audiences with this film.

Any film coming from the house of Ram Gopal Varma comes with certain expectations and usually, the results are extreme- a super hit or massive flop. But this time, the director has managed to bring it a saving grace and he was sharp in carrying the film without much hiccups.

It should be admitted that though the director of this film is a newcomer, has handled it very well. Had the second half of the film as good as first half, it would have been a still bigger hit. Second half is a bit dragging, which makes the movie a routine flick.
